We leave O Pedrouzo and then cross to the next place, Santo Antón, where the ascent begins to the municipality of Santiago. O Amenal, Cimadevila and San Paio will be the following towns.
We ascend to the town of A Lavacolla. Very near here we reach the Monte do Gozo, a small hill where, for the first time, the pilgrims delight in a view of the far off Cathedral.
A 5 km descent remains. The Camino enters the city through the San Lázaro neighbourhood and leaves the Fontiñas neighbourhood on the left. Farther on, the Calle de Os Concheiros, a former district of guilds of craftsmen who traded with scallop shells.
The route goes down the Rúa de San Pedro to the Porta do Camiño, and continues along its final stage, through pedestrian streets and squares such as Casas Reais, Plaza de Cervantes and Acibechería, where we will access the Basilica.
